starting my ND program a hot mess!

It's the second day of school here at Bastyr, CA. I've been kind of squatting here at Jessica's apartment while I look for a place/living out of my van, which hasn't been ideal. She had packed up all her kitchen things and mine are packed as well, so we've just been eating out.

This isn't all that bad here in OB. There are cheap places to eat where I can get healthy-ish food for $5 and under; for instance the Quik Stop has two meats and two sides for $5. I've been good about picking healthy sides but they keep putting a roll in there! It feels like after my experience being an extreme raw foodist leading to a few problems afterward (including the feeling of orthorexia in general), I have had the attitude that it is important for me to relax about my diet. This means every time my Quik Stop meal is gone and I'm left with a roll, I'm eating it even though I know my body is having a hard time getting over a yeast infection I had.

Today, I got to read my friend Lindsay's blog about her progression with the candida eliminating diet. The part that feels most inspiring to me is how she is feeling lighter than she really is, like she can just bounce around. I remember that feeling distinctly in Costa Rica, when I was still feeling great. I felt agile instead of my usual clumsy. I just really want to find some balance.

It is easy for me to settle for "good enough" instead of being outstanding. I'm not unhappy with my weight. Although, now that I look at these pictures, I would encourage myself to tone up that back! No wonder my bras have gotten so tight and uncomfortable. I'm not sure why I gained so much weight in the past few months. Maybe stress. I also really need to keep working on my posture.  I have been working on it for the past year but in these pictures, that does not really show.

Stress really is a big deal. I've been really struggling with the way my body is doing ever since I took organic chemistry. The class was so much pressure for twenty weeks and I developed some sort of tendinitis, which has limited the things I can do to work out.

So this is my blog dedicated to toning up my body while getting rid of the yeast infestation that I think has gone on far too long! I am going to find ways to tone up my arms again and hopefully feel healthy and strong instead of achy and old. I'm 30, still too young to be like this, especially when I'm going into naturopathy! Here's my day one pictures.. Unfortunately, I'm realizing if I want to start now, I have to throw out the pizza, beer and ice cream that are currently in the fridge. Will I do it? Time will tell. Maybe I can make some friends in OB with beer handouts, at least.  It wasn't mine but I really enjoyed it with pizza and ice cream last night as I afforded myself a "binge day".   I often hold on to diet tricks without applying the whole diet, which is unfortunate.  Binge days are meant for a diet that is consistent, not one that includes rolls and candy and potato chips.  :)

I should include that I have already made improvements to my diet and the way I feel by cutting out the foods I was allergic to in my blood IGG test.  The main problems for me are eggs, chicken and duck!  I had to let Ben eat all the duck eggs when I was still in WA.  Also almonds, then peanuts.  A little less of a problem: baker's yeast, soy, whey, milk, cheese, cranberry, banana.

Can't wait to get into my new place, wherever that will be... but in the mean time, literally, I can't wait!
